About

Our expert presenters will review the basis of the regression equations in state-of-the-art dam breach software, covering the background behind dam failure observations, development and validation of datasets, and updated methodologies for analysis.

We will show how to validate hydraulic models to observed data, covering breach parameters, margin of error, and probabilistic modelling. We’ll also address the limitations of current methods, present cautionary tales, and highlight recent changes to modelling practices and changes to ANCOLD guidance that reflect improved practices.

This free webinar leads into a premium webinar on 26 June 2024 in which attendees will work with available data sets and regression equations to estimate dam breach parameters for use in hydraulic modelling software. Regardless of which software package you use for dam breach modelling, the webinar material will allow attendees to prepare the required data for analysis.
