Python has become part of the toolbox of scientists and engineers, and has numerous applications in hydrology. By mastering Python, you are able to extend data analysis and modelling capabilities far beyond what is possible with spreadsheets, GIS platforms and other standard software.

How it works

AWS has designed the Python Training Series to be highly practical and hands-on. The on-demand bundle courses are designed for your flexibility. Once you register for the bundle offer, you’ll receive immediate access to both the Essentials and Masterclass courses for a total of 154 days. Learn at your own pace, through a combination of video recordings, practical exercises, and real-world case studies.

This training series is intended for practitioners and researchers in the water sector to build their skills by using basic scripts and ready-to-use Python notebooks covering a range of topics including data analysis, visualisation, advanced optimisation, and modelling.

Python Essentials for water (OD-23-3-076)

The Python Essentials is a 6-hour course designed for beginners to cover the fundamentals of Python and provide an overview of the most important Python libraries giving you the confidence to create basic programs to process hydrological data and calculations. You will receive 30 days to complete this course.

Python Masterclass: Advances skills in hydrology (OD-25-8-125)

The Python Masterclass is designed for hydro(geo)logists who have a basic understanding of Python and are seeking to enhance their skills and knowledge beyond the use of basic scripts.

This 16-hour course covers a range of topics including data analysis, visualisation, AI-assisted Python coding, and mapping and modelling. This course will provide you with a set of ready-to-use Python notebooks that can be adapted for a wide range of applications. You will receive 124 days to complete this course.
