There has been much emotive sentiment about the place of desalination and water reuse in guaranteeing water security. Neil Palmer has spent 43 years in the water industry, the last 18 in desalination and water re-use. He shares his observations over the years, drawing some conclusions on the correct use of desalination and water reuse to support traditional supplies, so that customers get affordable water but are not subject to periodic water rationing.
