About

There is an urgent need to improve water resources management and water productivity across all commercial sectors. In this webinar, presenter Dr Kaluvai Yella Reddy highlights increasing agricultural water use efficiency as one of the top priorities of countries to cope with increased climate variability, droughts and water scarcity. This requires emphasis on water measurement, participatory irrigation water management, capacity building of farmers and government agencies, large-scale promotion of water saving crop production technologies and expansion of micro irrigation. India is an example country aiming to achieve sustainability in water resources development and management, through its National Water Policies.
