Steve Hemming is an Associate Professor in the Indigenous Nations and Collaborative Futures Research Hub at Jumbunna Institute for Indigenous Education and Research, UTS. Over the last 25 years Steve has worked with Indigenous leaders on research projects that address the relationship between natural resource management, Indigenous heritage management, Indigenous governance and well-being. Steve has been Co-Director of the Ngarrindjeri Regional Authority’s Research, Policy and Planning Unit. He has worked on a number of research projects that support the development of water policy relating to Indigenous engagement. He has had long-term experience working with the Department of Environment and Water (DEW) formerly the Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources (DEWNR), Environmental Protection Authority (EPA), the Natural Resources Management (NRM) Boards, SA Water and other organisations responsible for water policy development in the State.
