Professor Damian Barrett has more than 20 years research experience. Currently he is leading CSIRO’s research in unconventional gas and he is also the Director of GISERA, the Gas Industry Social and Environmental Research Alliance (GISERA). GISERA is a vehicle initiated by Australia Pacific LNG and CSIRO to foster collaborative public good research into the social and environmental challenges and opportunities associated with Australia’s growing gas industry. His current research interests include: integrated research into assessing environmental impacts and trade-offs associated with land, water and mining in landscapes, environmental biophysical modelling of energy, carbon, water and nutrient fluxes in landscapes and physical hydrology, ecosystem services and sustainable development.
