Tony Slatyer is an independent consultant on water policy and governance. Mr Slatyer was the head of the Water Division in the Australian Government’s Department of Agriculture and Water Resources. After retiring from the Australian Public Service in early 2017, Mr Slatyer was engaged by the Australian Water Partnership as Special Adviser on Water to the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.  In this role, Tony assisted DFAT to support the Prime Minister’s involvement in the United Nations High Level Panel on Water, which was set up to exert political advocacy in the implementation of the water related Sustainable Development Goals.  The Panel completed its work and reported to the United Nations Secretary General in March 2018.
