Ryan is a hydraulic engineer with the City of Gold Coast, formerly known as the Gold Coast City Council. Graduating with a degree in Civil Engineering and majoring in Construction from Griffith University, Ryan joined Council to develop hydrologic and hydraulic models of the City’s waterways and stormwater networks. Some interesting projects have been assessing the Gold Coast Light Rail, Commonwealth Games village precinct and the proposed Evandale cultural centre. Ryan is a member of Institution of Engineers Australia and a contributing member of the flood modellers association (FMA). He is an active member of the disaster management unit which operates in a flood emergency providing flood information to help protect and advise the community. Currently Ryan is working on a citywide overland flow path map using coupled 1D/2D modelling suites with a rain on grid approach.
