Dr Michael Leonard is an Associate Professor at the University of Adelaide with over 20 years’ experience in water resources, hydrological modelling and environmental engineering.

Michael is interested in the application of numerical and statistical modelling to environmental engineering problems. Many applications require an understanding of the risk of hazardous impacts, such as flooding from complex man-made or natural systems. His background is in stochastic modelling of rainfall fields at sub-daily timescales, and is developing methods for improved assessment of flood risk.
