Jaana is a leader in developing and implementing high impact communication, engagement and knowledge brokering programs across the environmental research and management sectors.
She currently leads a science communication and engagement program for the Threatened Species Recovery Hub of the Australian Government’s National Environmental Science Program at The University of Queensland. The six-year $73 million hub has 147 threatened species research projects across the country and works with over 200 on-ground partners.
She is experienced in consulting stakeholders across Australia and the Pacific. Skilled science writer and highly successful media manager. Effective team manager. Strong technical knowledge in catchment and waterway science, ecology and environmental management. Extensive national networks across government agencies, eNGOs, Indigenous organisations, NRMs, media and research sectors.
