Mitchell is a coastal engineer with over 7 years’ experience in the field of environmental fluid mechanics and coastal modelling. His main area of expertise is in the field of numerical modelling, with his experience spanning a range of sediment transport, water quality and hydrodynamic oriented coastal projects including the Toondah Harbour EIS and the Coorong Infrastructure Investigations Project. Mitchell is currently a Leadership Team Member for the IAHR/IWA Joint Committee on Marine Outfall Systems. He holds a honours undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering (2013) and a PhD in Environmental Engineering (2019) from the University of Queensland.
