Cameron Ackerman

Cameron is senior hydraulic engineer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Hydrologic Engineering Center and the lead developer of RAS Mapper editing suite of tools within HEC-RAS. Cameron’s technical area of expertise includes hydraulic analysis of rivers systems for performing dam breach analysis; floodplain delineation; flood damage reduction studies; ecosystem restoration; and flood warning, response and preparedness. Further, his expertise extends to the general use of GIS and the use of GIS for hydrologic engineering applications. His efforts at HEC have focused on the use of GIS to assist in water resources modeling and the development of the HEC-RAS software.
