Joel Voortman | AWS Business Manager

Joel manages the Australian Water School (AWS) that provides online training and professional development to the global water industry. Throughout his 18 years in the water industry, Joel has managed the development, implementation, and delivery of digital training programs and initiatives within not-for-profit organisations, including the International Centre of Excellence in Water Resources Management (ICE WaRM) and the National Centre for Groundwater Research and Training (NCGRT) based at Flinders University. In his role as Digital Training Manager, Joel oversees all AWS online training courses, webinars and digital content. He brings to AWS a passion for working towards achieving best-practice learning outcomes for the global water industry.

Anushree Mistry | AWS Training Officer

Anushree is a dedicated member of the Australian Water School (AWS) team, delivering high-quality online training courses and webinars to ensure best practice learning outcomes. Anushree brings valuable knowledge and expertise in designing and developing technical training programs through extensive experience in both the university and private sectors.

Renée Samwell | AWS Training Coordinator

Renée is the Digital Training Coordinator, where she oversees the coordination and delivery of its online training programs, marketing efforts, and administrative functions. With a strong background in the water industry, Renée has held roles in data and library management, stakeholder engagement, regulation, and project coordination.

Renée holds a bachelor’s degree in Behavioural Science and a Post Graduate Diploma in Library Management, equipping her with a broad skill set and the ability to collaborate and deliver projects effectively within a small team. Her diverse expertise enhances AWS’s capacity to deliver impactful training and professional development opportunities to the water sector.
