About

This webinar will present case studies and interviews with farmers who have participated in the WaterSmart Farms bedrock exploration project. The webinar will examine:
• Reasons for participation
• Outcomes of interest or use to the farmer
• Current and planned activities by the farmer to utilise their bedrock groundwater resource
• The role of desalination in broadening utility of the resource, and the regulatory and practical environment for desalination in Wheatbelt WA
• The broader water demand picture in south west Western Australia, including the role of local governments and other agencies in supporting water supply, and the implication for bedrock groundwater resources

While this webinar focuses on the WA case study, the concepts, exploration methods and lessons learned are highly relevant to water-scarce agricultural regions around the world seeking to unlock new groundwater resources.

This is part 3 of 3 of the Bedrock Groundwater in Western Australia series.
