Jason Van Den Akker

Jason is a Principal Hydrogeologist at Golder Associates and has a strong track record in the delivery of managed aquifer recharge (MAR) systems for mining companies. This includes practical hands on experience with the development, commissioning and running of MAR systems. Jason is routinely engaged by operating mines to develop best practice mine water management options to mitigate or manage mine inflows. To deliver MAR projects, Jason works with a multidisciplinary team including regulatory advisers in matters relating to permitting and mine water discharge, geochemists who analyse the chemistry of recharge water and groundwater to predict water quality changes, and groundwater modellers to assist in assessing the overall impacts of the MAR system.
