Mayari Bernard-Garcia

Dr. Mayari Bernard-Garcia completed her PhD in Dam Safety at the Department of Civil, Geological and Mining Engineering at Polytechnique Montréal, Canada. The research focused on the probabilistic dam breach modelling, and she is currently trying to specialize in the dam safety assessments. She is currently working as a hydrological, hydraulic and dam safety engineer at AtkinsRéalis where she gains knowledge about these three fields. She also has a background in teaching Civil Engineering classes at Polytechnique Montréal.  Dr. Bernard-Garcia is a member of the ICOLD Young Professional Forum and currently is participating in a working group on two Bulletins of the ICOLD Dam Safety Committee. She is also an active member of the Canadian Dam Association (CDA) being a member of its International, Francophone and Young Professionals Committees.
