Cathie Barton

Cathie is Team Leader of the BMT Australian flood team and a Senior Principal Engineer with over 30 years of experience, primarily in the field of flood engineering. Cathie specialises in flood studies, flood impact and mitigation assessments and floodplain management. Cathie is driven by delivering high-quality, leading-edge work and she leads a specialist team of innovative and highly regarded engineers and scientists. Cathie was Project Coordinator for the Brisbane River Catchment Flood Study, awarded the Engineers Australia ‘RJ Hawken’ Engineering Excellence Award for the best engineering project in Qld (2018). She was also co-editor and co-author of the ARR2019 project “Two Dimensional Modelling of Rural and Urban Floodplains”.
