Tom Vanderbyl has almost 40 years’ experience in water resources strategy, planning, policy, management and allocation. Based in Queensland, he provides strategic advice about regional, national and trans-national water planning matters to government and private clients throughout Australia as well as in Vietnam, Cambodia, China, Timor Leste, Brazil, Kenya, Tanzania, India, USA, Norway and the UK. Tom is an Adjunct Principal Research Fellow in the Australian Rivers Institute within the Griffith University. His pioneering work in the field of water planning was recognised by the Australia Day Council in awarding him a NRM Australia Day Medallion.
