Scott Hogan (P.E). has spent more than 30-years working in the field of river engineering hydraulics, focusing primarily on transportation hydraulic analysis and design, bridge scour analysis, countermeasure design, and floodplain analysis.  For the past 18 years, he has worked with the US Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Resource Center and the Federal Lands Highway Division.

Prior to his career with FHWA, he served as a consulting engineer, designing and managing river engineering related projects.  He graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Civil Engineering (1991) and a Master’s of Science degree Hydraulics (1993). He has spent much of his career developing and delivering training, developing and deploying new and improved technology, and providing technical support for State Departments of Transportation and others.  He has also been an instructor for several hydraulics training courses through FHWA National Highway Institute (NHI) for more than 25 years. He has a sincere passion for hydraulic engineering and advancing the state of our practice.
