Dr Neethu Madhukumar is a CERC Fellow in Future Water Environmental AI. She focuses on developing trusted, specialist Water-AI tools and platforms to address climate and environmental challenges.

Neethu completed her PhD from James Cook University in Cairns, Australia, where she developed novel AI models and an AI-based decision support system for improving water-use efficiency in precision irrigation. Her research investigated the role of rainfall, surface and root-zone soil moisture in supporting irrigation decisions. Currently, she also serves as a committee member and visibility & outreach coordinator of Women in Earth and Environmental Sciences Australasia (WOMEESA).
