Melita Grant is an experienced practitioner, advisor, and researcher in integrated water resources management (IWRM), and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) in Australian and international development contexts. Melita has worked for over 15 years’ within state and local government, universities, and civil society organisations (CSOs). With an academic background in Political Science and Environmental Management, Melita has specialised in transdisciplinary approaches to addressing sustainability challenges. Melita led a number of projects focused on gender equality within WASH and IWRM for donors, CSOs and global partnerships. In 2017, she authored the Global Water Partnership’s influential Action Piece on gender equality and water resources management, which was adopted by the UN High Level Panel on Water. Melita has also managed partnerships, community engagement and advocacy initiatives related to food justice issues, and has extensive experience in designing, implementing and evaluating stakeholder engagement programs.
