Lieselotte Heederik (Lisa) is co-founder and CEO of Nazava Water Filters. Operating from Indonesia, Nazava’s mission is to empower lower income households with access to safer and more affordable drinking water. The company reaches millions of people with safer and more affordable drinking water in over 50 different countries. The award winning Nazava Water Filters empower lower income households, and especially women, to purify their well, tap, river or rainwater and make it safe to drink, without the need for boiling, electricity or buying water in plastic bottles. The gravity based and WHO tested filters contribute to improved health, savings, available time and climate resilience, whilst reducing Co2 emissions and plastic waste. 80% of Nazava’s customers are lower income rural mothers earning less than $8/day. The water filters are also distributed by Unicef, Save the Children and many other NGOs. With Nazava, Lieselotte has won several prestigious awards, such as the Tech Awards, Ashden Awards, the Bayer Social Innovation Award and Top Innovator in the Humanitarian Impact and Resilience Challenge organised by the World Economic Forum.
