Karen is the Irrigated Agriculture Industry Convenor of One Basin CRC and is part of the senior management team at Murrumbidgee Irrigation Limited, one of the largest private irrigation companies in NSW. She has been involved in the irrigation industry in policy and advocacy positions for the past 19 years. Karen is the Chair of the National Irrigators’ Council Irrigation Infrastructure Operators sub-committee.

Karen provided advice to the MDBA as part of their Basin Community Committee during the early years of the Basin Plan and also served on the Riverina RDA (Regional Development Australia) Board. Before moving to Griffith in 1999, Karen worked for the Commonwealth Government in areas of National Health Policy including ethics, general practice and drug strategy.

Karen has an honours degree in psychology from the ANU and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She has a Certificate in Engagement from the IAP2 and in 2011 was awarded the prestigious RIRDC Rural Woman of the Year for NSW.
