Brian Wahlin

Dr. Brian Wahlin is a nationally recognised expert in sediment transport whose career spans more than 30 years of advancing how engineers understand, model, and manage sediment in rivers, canals, and hydraulic structures. His work includes leading sediment yield analyses, developing sediment transport models for major river systems such as the Salt–Gila Rivers in Arizona and Rio Grande in New Mexico, evaluating geomorphic processes, and assessing sedimentation impacts on dams, levees, flood-retarding structures, and reservoir operations.

Dr. Wahlin has performed sediment transport modeling for complex river restoration projects, contributed to regional sediment management plans, and provided expert analyses for litigation involving sediment impacts and channel change.
