As a Fellow of Engineers Australia, I bring over 25 years of diverse experience in technical leadership for surface water aspects across sectors such as resources, energy, transport, agriculture, urban infrastructure, and water resources planning and management. My career as a consulting engineer has spanned both engineering and advisory roles, grounded in a strong technical foundation in surface water hydrology and hydraulics. One of my core passions is developing integrated decision-support platforms that serve as comprehensive tools for planning, strategizing, governance, and policy-setting. I leverage advanced simulation tools like GoldSim to create these platforms, where I integrate both qualitative insights and quantitative data, allowing us to capture multiple stakeholder viewpoints and address the uncertainties embedded within complex water resource systems. Through this approach, I enable robust assessment of these systems under a range of future scenarios, each marked by its own set of variables and potential impacts. These decision-support platforms have proven invaluable in tackling critical challenges posed by climate change, water scarcity, and sustainable resource management, providing clients and policymakers with a framework that facilitates informed, adaptive decision-making. My work often addresses these multi-faceted issues, from balancing environmental needs to supporting long-term water security. Thanks to my wide-ranging skill set across several market sectors, I approach each project with versatility and a commitment to challenging conventional approaches. This adaptability has enriched my perspective and allowed me to approach complex problems with fresh, innovative solutions, often transcending traditional boundaries and helping to avoid the pitfalls of groupthink.
