Department for Environment and Water, South Australian Government
Simone, a policy specialist and hydrogeologist with more than 20 years of experience in South Australia’s water sector.
She began her career in groundwater science, building deep expertise in groundwater modelling, hydrochemistry, and the interactions between groundwater and surface water. That technical foundation shaped her commitment to ensuring strong science underpins water policy.
In 2015, Simone moved into policy, where she now leads complex water management analysis, supports the development of water allocation plans, and works closely with communities to improve water planning outcomes.
She has also contributed to water security projects for remote Aboriginal communities, helping to understand local needs and develop long‑term solutions in a changing climate.
Simone’s work extends internationally as well, including contributions to South Australia’s global water initiatives in India, Laos, and at Dubai Expo 2020.
She brings a rare combination of strategic vision and technical depth, making her a powerful voice in shaping evidence‑based water management for South Australia.
