Jason Needham is HDR’s Flood Consequences Practice Lead with more than 25 years of experience in dam and levee safety. He is recognized as a leading specialist in flood consequence estimation, advancing methods to quantify potential life loss, economic damages, and community impacts from flooding. During his two decades with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Risk Management Center, Jason played a central role in the research and development of LifeSim, the Corps’ state-of-the-art life loss simulation model, and applied it to high-profile studies such as the Oroville Dam evacuation analysis. Today, he continues to help levee sponsors, agencies, and communities make risk-informed decisions that improve public safety and resilience.
