Iain Brown

Iain Brown has 15 years of professional experience as an engineer in the water resource space with expertise in the water balance, mine water management, dam safety management, hydrology and hydraulic modelling and design.
Iain has been heavily involved in a wide range of water resource projects in Australia and overseas, including water balance modelling, flood studies, drainage infrastructure deign, catchment management plans, water quality modelling studies and designs. Iain has experience managing projects from both the consulting and local government side of the fence, giving him a unique understanding of the internal project drivers.
Iain joined WMS as a Principal Engineer in July 2023. Prior to WMS, Iain worked for the Cairns Regional Council as a Drainage Coordinator from September 2017. He also worked with GHD from January 2010 to September 2017 as a Drainage Engineer and Team Leader. With WMS, Iain will be responsible for project management and technical oversight of water resource projects.
