Professor Andrew Hall is an earth scientist with specialist knowledge in climatology and remote sensing, his work reliant on expert application of geographic information science. He is an integral member of environmental science research teams, being a named investigator on grants totalling more than $15m.

He is currently senior principal research fellow in CSU’s Water Research Team, conducting geospatial research to maximise ecological benefits from environmental water. Prior to his current role, he was associate and then substantive director of the Institute for Land, Water and Society from 2017 to 2021, leading a research support culture that delivered a three-fold increase in externally funded research expenditure. With a remarkable breadth of experience across Charles Sturt University, answering to a total of fifteen direct supervisors across six organisations, fifteen formal committees and two campuses, he is an accomplished research leader and administrator.
